Attention Managers and Coaches Safety Certification Requirements

One of CPLL’s most important goals is to ensure the safety of the children who participate. One way we do this is to require that ALL prospective coaches and managers be “certified” before they go on to the field to participate in CPLL-sponsored games and practices. The following requirements apply to ALL persons who wish to be considered as a coach or manager for the upcoming 2012 CPLL Baseball and Softball season:

What each prospective coach and manager must do:

  • Complete the Little League Volunteer Application and provide a copy of valid driver’s license and Social Security number. This is available HERE.
  • Attend Coaches and Managers meeting (Thurs, March 22nd, 6:30PM, Plainsboro Municipal Center)
  • Complete First Aid Training. There are two sessions and both will be held at the Cranbury School large group room:
    • Dates: Thurs, March 29, 2012 at 8pm or Monday, April 2, 2012 at 7pm (sharp) to 8:45pm
  • Complete Coach Fundamentals Training. CPLL will provide a link  to resources for this training.

Please note: Attendance at a First Aid Clinic session is mandatory for all new 2012 coaches and managers. Also, Little League requires that a coach representative from each baseball and softball team attend a session each year.

Safety/First Aid clinics are run by Brian Gould, chief of Plainsboro Rescue Squad. Topics covered include basic first aid, emergencies, injury prevention, use of the AED, and concussion recognition/management.
